Description:Located in the heart of Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin is home to the highest concentration of red Grands Crus, including the legendary Chambertin and Chambertin-Clos-de-Bèze, two of Napoleon’s favorites. Some claim that the emperor has his soldiers salute whenever they passed the venerable vineyards. Demand is high for the powerful, but smooth wines of Gevrey-Chambertin, all of which are reds.

Tasting note: Intense perfumed nose with fruit aromas and an animal nuance. Pleasant structure and charming fleshy texture. Good aging potential.
Serving suggestion: Roasted and grilled red meat, strongly flavored cheeses.
Aging potential: 5–7 years or more
Barrel aging: 10–12 months in French oak barrels, 25–30% new.
Bottle aging: The wines enjoy ideal conditions in the cellars of the bastions at the old Château de Beaune.
